Privacy Policy
Overview
This is the privacy policy of Joyner Law, PC, a Virginia criminal and traffic defense firm with offices in Richmond and Wytheville. It describes what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and what we don’t do with it.
We’ve kept this policy short and plain because our actual practices are simple. We don’t track visitors, we don’t sell anything, we don’t run ads.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us. If you fill out a contact form, request a consultation, or upload documents through the Resources page, we receive what you submit — typically your name, contact information, and a description of your situation.
We do not run analytics software, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors or track browsing across sessions.
Our web host and our security provider (Cloudflare) set technical cookies necessary to deliver the site and protect against abuse. We do not add cookies of our own.
How we use what you give us
We use the information you submit to:
- Respond to your inquiry
- Schedule a consultation if you request one
- If you become a client, represent you in your case
We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or other unsolicited communications. We do not share, sell, or rent your information to third parties for their own purposes.
Confidentiality and the attorney-client relationship
Information you share with us while seeking legal representation is treated as confidential under the rules of professional conduct that govern Virginia lawyers. That includes information shared before you become a formal client.
Submitting a form on this website does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. A formal relationship begins only after we have spoken with you, confirmed that we can represent you, and entered into a signed agreement.
Regardless of whether you become a client, we treat the fact that you contacted us — and what you told us — with discretion.
Document uploads
The Resources page allows prospective clients to upload driving records or other case documents before engagement. Documents you upload are received by email and stored in our internal systems. We treat them with the same discretion we apply to any other prospective-client communication.
If you upload documents and then decide not to engage us, we will retain them only as long as necessary to address any outstanding questions or to meet our professional obligations.
How long we keep things
We retain the information you provide for as long as we need it to serve you or to comply with our legal and professional obligations. Client files are retained in accordance with the Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version here and update the date at the top of the page. Substantive changes — anything that affects how we use information you have already shared — will be flagged at the top.
